Chromatographic determination of the composition of coke gas

The chromatographic analysis of the components making up return coke gas (H/sub 2/, O/sub 2/, N/sub 2/, CO, CO/sub 2/, CH/sub 4/ C /sub n/ H /sub m/ ) when there is a determined set of combination is a problem of methodology solved a long time ago. However, determining them in a mixture when present simultaneously in the return coke gas at working concentration involves certain difficulties. This is caused by the complicated nature of the composition of coke gas; determining the components in it has only become possible due to the inclusion of different variants of chromatographic analysis along with the use of capillary columns and highly sensitive selective detectors.
