Dubbed the BMC 1600, the mobile offshore drilling unit is capable of drilling to a maximum depth of 25,000 ft in seas with wave heights to 85 ft and winds of 120 knots. The rig can drill in most worldwide locales including the South China Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, offshore either the U.S. east or west coasts or any other area with similar environmental conditions.
