The 23rd hearing in three years on enforcement of hazardous-waste regulations reflects legislative concern that environmental rules, and the Superfund law in particular, are implemented. Reporting on the status of enforcement of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 were Anne M. Gorsuch, Administrator, and other representatives of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Their testimony also covered the use of outside contractors and personnel. The hearing record covers three days of the testimony of 18 witnesses and additional material submitted for the record by EPA, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
