Proposed DOE energy program budgets were the subject of hearings held on February 23 and March 12, 1981. Major consideration was given to meeting Administration economic goals, which require major changes in the 1981 as well as the 1982 budgets. Positive economic decisions are needed to remove energy investment uncertainties and develop long-term domestic energy supplies. The hearing record includes the statement of DOE Secretary Edwards, Senators McClure, Melcher, and Metzenbaum; responses to additional questions submitted to Secretary Edwards; and a short form of the fiscal year 1982 DOE budget.
