The 6.8 cm transition of H/sub 2/C/sup 18/O has been observed in absorption in the direction os Sgr A, Sgr B2, and W33. The average molecular isotopic abundance ratio (H/sub 2//sup 13/CO)/H/sub 2/C/sup 18/O) for the three sources is 6.9 with no evidence for source-to-source variation. If the oxygen isotopes have the terrestrial abundance and if fractionation in the formation of the formaldehyde isotopic species is not significant, the derived carbon isotope ratio (/sup 12/C)/(/sup 13/C) would be 72.
