Mechanism of (. cap alpha. ,p), (. cap alpha. ,d), and (. cap alpha. ,t) reactions in /sup 27/Al, /sup 59/Co, and /sup 197/Au

Energy spectra have been measured for particles from the reactions (..cap alpha..,p), (..cap alpha..,d), and (..cap alpha..,t) in /sup 27/Al, /sup 59/Co, and /sup 197/Au for seven angles in the range from 15/sup 0/ to 150/sup 0/ at E/sub b/=50 MeV. Integrated energy spectra and angular distributions have been determined. Analysis of the experimental results leads to the qualitative conclusion that an important role is played by the simplest direct processes over a large range of excitation energy of the final nuclei. The applicability of the pre-equilibrium decay model for interpretation of the energy spectra of particles from these reactions is discussed.
