Study of. cap alpha. -particle emission in the reaction /sup 22/Ne+/sup 197/Au

Experimental results are reported on measurement of the energy spectra, production cross section, and angular distributions of ..cap alpha.. particles in coincidence with fission fragments produced in the reaction /sup 197/Au+/sup 22/Ne (178 MeV). It is shown that in this reaction ..cap alpha.. particles are produced. The energy spectrum of these ..cap alpha.. particles differs greatly from the spectrum of evaporative ..cap alpha.. particles at high energies, and the angular distribution has a strong forward directivity. It follows from the data obtained that more than half of the ..cap alpha.. particles are in coincidence with fission fragments of the residual nucleus.
