Single-pulse YAG:Nd/sup 3 +/ laser emitting at 1. 318. mu

Journal Article · · Sov. J. Quant. Electron. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
An investigation was made of the main characteristics of a high-power single-pulse YAG:Nd/sup 3 +/ laser emitting at the wavelength of 1.318 ..mu... The output radiation energy was 0.13 J. The dependence of the gain at the 1.318 ..mu.. wavelength on the pump energy was determined. Moreover, the efficiency of generation of the second harmonic of the 1.318 ..mu.. radiation in a lithium iodate crystal was studied.
