Generation of higher harmonics of lambda = 1. 318. mu. garnet laser radiation

Journal Article · · Sov. J. Quant. Electron. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
Generation of the second and higher (up to fifth inclusive) harmonics of a pulsed garnet laser (/sup 4/F/sub 3/2/..-->../sup 4/I/sub 13/2/ transition at lambda = 1.318 ..mu..) was achieved by multistage frequency multiplication. The second harmonic was generated in an LiNbO/sub 3/ crystal and the higher harmonics in KDP crystals. When the energy of the fundamental-frequency radiation was 30 mJ, the harmonic energy conversion deficiences were 10, 0.4, 6, and 0.2% for the second, third, fourth, and fifth harmonics, respectively.
