OSTI ID:6418659
Representatives of the automotive, petroleum, and service station industries testified at a hearing which addressed the impact of these industries on air pollution problems and the country's failure to achieve air quality standards. Enforcement by the Environmental Protection Agency has been inadequate, although some states with stringent standards and enforcement have attained their goals. The purpose of the hearing was to identify appropriate measures and to prepare for extensions of the deadlines for attainment. Material submitted for the record by the witnesses and other interested parties follows the testimony of 10 witnesses.
