Recently, photovoltaic materials researchers have been investigating the use of several II-VI semiconductor compounds (e.g., CdS, CdTe, CdSe) in a new technique-electrochemical deposition. Low-cost preparation of polycrystalline CdTe as an absorber material has also been investigated for p-CdTe/n-CdS heterojunction solar cells. This paper presents details about the in-situ preparation of p-type CdTe deposited on polished stainless steel and low-sheet resistance indium-tin oxide (ITO).
