The present conference discusses topics in the diagnostic instrumentation required by high energy lasers, laser power standards, and laser beam measurements. Attention is given to a mid-IR laser beam wavefront analyzer, diagnostics for a developmental iodine laser, a CW DF laser beam diagnostic system, NBS laser power and energy measurements, the standardization of the measurement of spatial characteristics of optical beams, the characterization of UV laser beams using fluorescence, and the calibration of beam-power monitors for laser welding.
