Various papers on propulsion are presented. Individual topics addressed include: design and power conditioning for the coil-gun, development of railgun diagnostics, trajector optimization of earth-launched interceptors at supercircular speeds, synthesis and thermolysis of metal complexes containing energetic ligands, cubanes as solid propellant ingredients, synthesis of cubane-based high-energy materials, hypervalent iodine iodinative decarboxylation of cubyl and homocubyl carboxylic acids, rapid-scan infrared/thermal profiling studies of the thermal decomposition of selected nitrate salts of interest for emulsifed propellants. Also considered are: multicomponent molten salt systems and their contamination, thermal decomposition of hydroxylamine nitrate, simulation of the mixing of highly filled suspensions in the corotating twin screw extrusion process, emulsification of eutectic salt mixtures in fluid vehicles, versatile synthesis of liquid crystalline thermoplastic elastomers, velocity measurements in the plume of an arcjet engine, detailed operating characteristics of a 30-kW ammonia arcjet engine with a contoured nozzle, analysis of a used pair of arcjet electrodes, high-power NH/sub 3/ arcjet cathode lifetime evaluation experiments and plans, and energetic thermoplastic elastomers.
