Subsolidus equilibria in air in the NiO-CeO{sub 2} and La{sub 2}O{sub 3}-CeO{sub 2}-Fe{sub 2}O{sub 3} systems were studied. In the NiO-CeO{sub 2} and Fe{sub 2}O{sub 3}-CeO{sub 2} systems, no binary compound and no solid solubility were detected. La{sub 2}O{sub 3} was soluble in CeO{sub 2}, forming a cubic fluorite solid solution up to La{sub 0.5}Ce{sub 0.5}O{sub 1.75}, whereas no solid solubility of CeO{sub 2} in La{sub 2}O{sub 3} was detected. In the La{sub 2}O{sub 3}-CeO{sub 2}-Fe{sub 2}O{sub 3} system, no ternary compound was found. The tie line is between LaFeO{sub 3} and CeO{sub 2}.
