Cooling aspects of the Swiss LCT coil. [MYERS computer code; MARC computer code]

The cooldown characteristics of the Swiss LCT coil are calculated in the ''facility-constrained'' mode, using 2-dimensional thermal analysis codes. Indirect cooling, via heat conduction from the casing, is shown to be feasible to cool down the coil, from 300K to 4K, in approximately 120 hr. Design considerations are included. 6 refs.
