The INA (Industrija Nafte) Sisak refinery expansion involves the construction of a 10,000 bbl/day UOP catalytic cracker and gas concentration unit, a 1000 ton/day bitumen plant and a sour water stripper, a new 4 million ton/yr crude distillation unit, an 894,000 ton/yr vacuum distillation expansion, a 500,000 ton/yr increased catalytic cracking capacity, and an aromatics complex, which will produce benzene, toluene, p-xylene, and o-xylene via UOP processes. The aromatics production flow sheet and the use of a Foster Wheeler Ltd. heat pipe air preheater at the aromatics complex to reduce energy consumption in a new xylene splitter reboiler; and the major capital investment program under way in Yugoslavia, which includes a new $400 million pipeline to carry about 24 million tons of imported crude oil from a marine terminal on the Adriatic Sea to the nation's refineries, are described. A tabulation shows Foster Wheeler's various refinery and petrochemical construction contracts in Yugoslavia.
