Transportation of natural and other gas by pipeline maps and records

In its advance notice of proposed rulemaking, the US Materials Transportation Bureau would require gas pipeline operators to have adequate maps and records of their pipeline systems, which would show or describe the systems in detail, in order to facilitate location of portions of the pipelines should construction or maintenance be necessary and to prevent or alleviate pipeline accidents.
