The Superfund Amendments of 1985 amends the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) of 1980 to make implementation more effective and to improve the procedures for cleanup and compensation when environmental damage occurs. The bill is divided into two sections. Section 1 incorporates changes in response and liability provisions, public notification requirements and emergency planning, a five-year extension of taxation for the Superfund trust fund, and procedures for establishing and settling claims. Sections 2 identifies changes in definitions under CERCLA, sets December 31, 1986 as the deadline for regulations on reportable quantities of hazardous substances, and amends other procedural and operational functions. The volume covers committee reports on Parts I - V.
