The grape industry is increasingly concerned about leaf damage caused by air pollution in vineyards near the industrialized Great Lakes and other areas. This injury, which reduces vine vigor and lowers yield, is known as ozone damage or Oxidant stipple. In a question and answer session with Robert Musselman, some of the problems are revealed. Musselman is a member of the Department of Pomology and Viticulture, New York Experiment Station, Geneva, NY.
