The Aleph trigger supervisor

Conference · · IEEE Trans. Nucl. Sci.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6286064
The prototype of a Fastbus Master/Slave, which in the Aleph experiment (CERN-LEP) is the intelligent interface between the Trigger System and the Read-out Controllers (ROCs), is here described. It is a based on two microprogrammable sequencers, one acting as a Fastbus Master and the other one equipped with a 32-bits ALU; its internal registers/devices are time-shared by the two sequencers. The main protocol control part is implemented as two finite state machines based on PAL technique.
