Voluntary carriage for natural gas distributors and end-users reached 530 bcf during the third quarter of 1985. This was a 93% increase from the third quarter of 1984. Transportation for distributors alone grew 150%. Voluntary carriage for distributors and end users accounted for 22% of all gas volumes delivered by interstate pipelines to market in the last full quarter before Order 436 took effect. Spot transportation volumes through the first three quarters of 1985 ran 66% ahead of carriage during the same period in 1984, but also surpassed the spot transportation for the entire year of 1984. 2 figures, 2 tables.
