Reduction of the degree of crushing of a charge for coking at the Western Siberia Iron and Steel Works

The proximate composition and properties of individual classes of concentrates from the Kuznetsk Central Washery and Western Siberia I and SW Washery are studied. The nature of distribution of the ash by classes is determined. It is shown that the proximate composition and caking capacity of charges prepared by differential crushing practically do not change on change of the degree of crushing from 77 to 91% content of the <3 mm class, although there is a decrease in the content of fines in the charge and an increase in its bulk density. The coke retains its mechanical strength, and the abradability decreases. A system for differential crushing of the components is recommended and the optimum degree of crushing of the charge is determined.
