Project profiles: Highlighting North America's hydro

Articles highlight development of six hydroelectric projects, focusing on history, participants, and challenges. These facilities illustrate some of the breadth and scope of hydro in North America. These plants represent various segments of the North American hydroelectric industry: a federally owned project, an investor-owned project, a nonfederal public project, a small privately owned project, and a Canadian project. A project currently under construction also is included. These projects illustrate a variety of designs and approaches to both conventional and pumped-storage hydro.
