Alloy properties in the PbTe-Fe/sub 2/Te system

The authors examined the PbTe-Fe/sub 2/Te phase diagram by means of differential thermal, x-ray phase, and microstructure analyses in conjunction with measurements on the microhardness and pycnometric density. The electrophysical parameters were measured on polycrystalline parallelepipeds by a balance method; the errors in measuring the conductivity and thermo-emf were about 5-7%. The temperature dependence of the electrophysical parameters shows that PbTe-based solid solutions are semiconductors with hole-type conductivity.
