Elastic and inelastic scattering of electrons by sodium: Differential cross-sections at 20-150 eV

The author has used a crossed beams method to measure relative differential cross sections for elastic and 3{sup 2} S {yields} 3{sup 2}P inelastic scattering of electrons from sodium atoms, at incident electron energies of 20, 22.1, 54.4, 100, and (elastic only) 150 eV. The experimental data are compared in detail to the close-coupling calculations of Mitroy, et al. (1987), as well as to existing experimental data. The data presented are of sufficient quality to allow comparison of small details in the shape of the theoretical results.
