The results of the calculation of the phase diagram (PD) of the system Pb-Sn-Te-Se, required for making the optimal selection of the conditions for liquid-phase epitaxy of the solid solutions Pb/sub 1-y/Sn/sub y/Te/sub 1-x/Se/sub x/ are presented. The nonmonotonic dependence of the liquidus temperature on the Sn content in the melt, characteristic for the system Pb-Sn-Te, transforms as the Se content in the melt increases into a strictly decreasing dependence, if the Se concentration exceeds the Te concentration. The distribution factor of Sn increases monotonically as the ratio of the Se and Te concentrations in the melt increases. The distribution factor of Se has a maximum in the system Pb-Te-Se and gradually decreases as the ratio of the Sn and Pb concentrations in the melt increases.
