Area development and business incentive program: three ways to promote business, jobs, and economic growth through reduced electric rates

Book ·
OSTI ID:6072905

Consolidated Edison has a new program to encourage the creation of new businesses and jobs in New York City and Westchester County. Project Appleseed offers a reduced electric rate for special areas where electric power is underutilized, for vacant buildings to encourage reoccupation, and for new buildings to encourage construction. Greater use of these facilities will benefit Con Edison customers because fixed costs will be distributed among a larger number of customers. The article outlines benefits, eligibility rules, designated areas where the rate is available, the duration of reduced rates, and application information for each of the three program areas.
