Site selection for Onsite Fuel Cell power plant testing

In late 1984, as a participant in the Onsite Fuel Cell Program, Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. will begin field testing a 40-kW onsite fuel cell power plant at a customer site in Westchester County, New York. Con Edison has selected and instrumented four candidate test sites to collect hourly thermal and electrical energy consumption data for one year. This energy data will provide a technical basis for selecting a good test site for the 40-kW power plant. This paper discusses Con Edison's candidate site selection procedure and explains the technical evaluation to be used for selecting the test site.
