Statfjord C production platform has been installed in 146 m of water in Norway's Statfjord field. The platform is the third Condeep concrete structure designed, built, and installed by Norwegian Contractors in Mobil's Statfjord field. Although the C structure is not the largest of 3 platforms installed in the Statfjord field, its size still is gigantic. Its installed weight is 835,000 metric tons with ballast, and it measures 249 m (822 ft) from the seabed to the top of the drilling derrick. During installation, fine tuning of the structure was commenced as the platform submerged. The objective was to insure that the 835,000-ton structure reached the seafloor within a 5 orientation window.
