Designed to help colleges and universities organize, develop, and implement an energy management program, this workbook is organized around five basic premises: (1) that each institution is unique because of its facilities, location, faculty, resources, personnel, and history; (2) that key administrators must have a part in developing a plan before a college will begin implementing it; (3) that campus personnel know and understand the campus better than anyone; (4) that energy management is a subset of facility management; and (5) that resources to reduce energy consumption are available through a combination of internal and external funding sources. The workbook focuses on building energy use in developing a strategy that meets the physical requirements of the campus and the people who carry out the plan, and also matches the equipment, personnel, and capital resources. It contains numerous flow charts and work sheets to help in diagnosis and planning.
