Nonlinear optical properties of advanced materials; Proceedings of the Meeting, Los Angeles, CA, Jan. 20, 21, 1993

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6006418

Topics addressed include nonlinear optics of advanced materials, advanced materials for chi(3) and chi(2) applications, and for optical storage and signal processing, and design and characterization of new materials. Particular attention is given to nonlinear optical activities of organic and inorganic semiconductors, nonlinear waves and bistabilities in waveguides and all-optical switches, nonlinear modulated ellipsometry for characterization of biopolymers, and electrooptical materials and devices. Attention is also given to design of materials for molecular computing, photophysics of light-emitting conjugated polymers, and quantum lattice fluctuations in a 1D charge density wave material (luminescence and resonance Raman studies of an MX solid).
