Consideration is given to quantum-confined structures and frequency conversion, phase conjugation and photorefractive effects, nonlinear optical effects, and nonlinear optical materials. Particular attention is given to generation of ultrasoft ultraviolet optical pulses using sum-frequency in LBO crystals, nonlinear optical susceptibility of CuCl quantum dot glass, beam-coupling by stimulated Brillouin scattering, optimum design of an optical array used as a pseudoconjugator, imaging through a low-light-level Raman amplifier, high-order nonlinear susceptibilities, generalized Raman gain in nonparabolic semiconductors under strong magnetic field, measurements of second hyperpolarizabilities of diphenylpolyenes by means of phase-conjugate interferometry, and gate capacitance of MOS field effect devices of nonlinear optical materials in the presence of a parallel magnetic field.
