In Destin, Florida, over the weekend of September 24-25, APCA's Executive Committee, the chairman of the four Councils, Martin E. Rivers, George O. Luster, and Paul Kueser met to review, modify, and recommend adoption by the Board of Directors of a blueprint for growth in the waste management activities of the Association. A summary of the Waste Management Business Plan is presented. Its purpose is to better define the activities and resources necessary to become a more pro-active force as compared to the evolutionary approach underway in the current strategic plan. The overall goal is an expansion of membership while satisfying three major objectives: provide services to waste management professionals equivalent to those currently provided in air management; insure equal or higher level services than presently done in air management; and provide services in multi-media problems to both air and waste management.
