High-voltage square-pulse generator

Journal Article · · Instrum. Exp. Tech. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5951359
A generator is described using a KRM-6 reed relay that shapes square pulses into a capacitive or resistive load. A repetition frequency of 0-100 Hz and a rise time of about1 nsec is reported. An amplitude of up to 3 kV has been observed. For single pulses, the amplitude can be increased to 6 kV. With a resistive load, short square pulses can be obtained by discharging the storage line through reed relay.
