Residential conservation service program: preliminary program results from Florida Power and Light Company

Florida Power and Light Company has been conducting energy conservation audits under their Residential Conservation Service program since March 1980. Two surveys have been conducted to obtain preliminary findings on various parameters including: pre-audit conditions of the homes for which audits were requested, what energy conservation measures were found to be applicable, the estimated costs and payback periods of these measures, and what percentage of customers purchase and install measures as a result of the audit. These surveys, as well as a general outline of Florida Power and Light's RCS program, are presented in this paper.
