Calculation of phase equilibria in the Pb-Sb-Te system

The authors present the results of calculations of the liquids and solids surfaces in the metal-enriched region of the Pb-Sn-Te phase diagram according to the equations of the model of simple regular solutions (SRS). The results attest to the fact that the SRS model adequately describes the character of the interaction of the components in a metal-enriched melt of the Pb-Sn-Te system. The slight deviations of the effective values of the entropies of fusion of the binary compounds from the true values (32.6 for PbTe and 30.1 J/(mole /times/ deg) for SnTe) point out the high degree of dissociation of the PbTe and SnTe molecules in the melt.
