Prospects for rapid exploitation of non-conventional oil. Point-of-view: California
In some respects, world market prospects for non-conventional petroleum have faded substantially since the turn of the decade. However, rapid development continues in the Western Hemisphere due to growing availability of such resources coupled with successful exploitation over recent time. This issue discusses three pertinent conferences that demonstrate a sustained commitment to non-conventional oil utilization. Also included in this issue are the following data: (1) asphalt export prices to the USA; (2) Venezuela's refined petroleum-product prices as of 4/2/85; (3) refining netback data for the US Gulf and West Coasts, Rotterdam, and Singapore as of 4/29/85; and (4) the fuel price/tax series and principal industrial fuel prices for April 1985 for countries of the Eastern hemisphere.
