Refining: moods and modes 1986. Implications for producers and other observers
Looking for good news during tremendous current oil market uncertainties is a requirement for all who intend to survive and, in this issue, ED underscores the fact with highlights from the National Petroleum Refiners Association meeting in March in Los Angeles, CA. A graph shows the great number of technical papers shared with well over 2000 participants. In particular, the emphasis on heavy oil conversion problems has direct importance in future reduction of animosity between producers and refiners. Also included in this issue are: (1) notes on the US asphalt market; (2) ED asphalt export prices to US from Canada, N. Antilles, and Venezuela; (3) US posted asphalt price series and US asphalt imports by country of origin; (4) ED refining netback data from US Gulf and West Coasts, Rotterdam and Singapore; (5) ED fuel price/tax series for countries of the Eastern and Western Hemispheres; and (6) ED principal industrial fuel prices as of March 1986 for countries of both hemispheres.
