The authors have investigated the influence of methods used to introduce bound sulfur on the activity and stability of monometallic and bimetallic reforming catalysts, in particular platinized alumina (with various contents of PtO and platinized-iridized alumina. Results on the change in activity of two samples of Pt/Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ catalyst at a relatively high heptane feedstock space velocity are shown. Data is presented on the catalyst selectivity before and after sulfiding. The influence of the method of introducing the sulfur on the catalytic properties of the platinum-iridium catalyst are shown.
