Symposium on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and cancer: Final report
Conference
·
OSTI ID:5887353
This symposium was organized to present recent important advances in the chemistry and biology of carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH); widespread environmental pollutants produced by the combustion of fossil fuels. Many PAHs are potent carcinogens in experimental animals and PAHs may be primary causative agents in a significant percentage of human cancers. A second major objective was to bring together oral presentations for publication in book form. Additional chapters from invited authors who were not included in the symposium helped to cover all topics relevant to the mechanism of PAH carcinogenesis.
