Handbook of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

Book ·
OSTI ID:6780856

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) constitute one of the largest classes of carcinogens in the environment and arise mainly from the combustion of fossil or synthetic fuels or organic compounds. PAH are also subject to considerable aerial transport and are thus widespread environmental contaminants. A prerequisite for the control of environmental PAH is an understanding of the chemical and physical properties of PAH as well as the methodologies for their sampling, sample handling, and analysis. The book provides an up-to-date collection of sampling and analytical techniques. One paper has been abstracted separately.
