Atlantic Richfield Co.'s 185,000 bbl/day refinery will use combined fluid catalytic cracking technology of Pullman Kellogg and Amoco Oil Co., perhaps for the first time in the U.S. Pullman Kellogg was selected to provide design technology for a Kellogg/Amoco Ultra-Orthoflow fluid catalytic cracker which upgrades distillates to high-octane gasoline. The cracker combines Kellogg and Amoco technology under an agreement announced by the two companies in late 1977. Atlantic Richfield has not awarded engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
