Elastic and inelastic scattering of protons of near-barrier energies by /sup 124/SN

Journal Article · · Sov. J. Nucl. Phys. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5858867
Angular distributions of elastic and inelastic scattering of protons by /sup 124/Sn have been measured at energies 6.600, 7.325, and 8.490 MeV. The experimental data have been analyzed in the framework of the spherical optical model, in the DWBA, and by the coupled-channel method. The low-energy behavior of the proton optical potential and the correspondence between the parameters determined for the spherical and generalized optical models are discussed. The difference in the electromagnetic and nuclear parameters of the dynamic quadrupole deformation of the nucleus predicted by the theory has been observed in a single experiment for the first time.
