Deepest offshore gas line completed on west coast

The 8.3-mile, 12-in. pipeline runs from Exxon's Hondo Platform A (located in 850 ft of water) in the Santa Barbara Channel to a gas treatment facility currently under construction in Las Flores Canyon. Start-up volumes are expected to total 18 MMcfd with a maximum capacity of 30 MMcfd. The pipeline is buried through the surf zone out to a water depth of 200 ft, approximately 13,000 ft from shore, and is concrete-coated to a point approximately 16,650 ft from shore.
