Structure and behavior of paramagnetic centers in cadmium azide

The paramagnetic centers in irradiated cadmium azide at 77 K, their thermal conversion and formation kinetics have been studied by EPR. The particles N, Cd/sub 2//sup 3 +/, and Cd/sub 3//sup 5 +/ have been identified. The principal values of the spin Hamiltonians have been determined. It is shown that an increase in temperature leads to the destruction of the paramagnetic centers specified above and the formation of new ones.
