Differential cross sections for /sup 14/N(..gamma.., ..pi../sup +/)/sup 14/C/sub g.delta/ (0 + 1) have been measured for an incident photon energy E/sub ..gamma../ = 200 MeV at laboratory angles of 45/sup 0/, 60/sup 0/, 75/sup 0/, 90/sup 0/, 120/sup 0/ and 140/sup 0/. The measurement of /sup 14/N(..gamma.., ..pi../sup +/)/sup 14/C/sub g.delta/ was motivated by the need for high-quality (..gamma.., ..pi..) data which would be especially sensitive to DWIA dynamics. The data were taken at the Bates Linear Accelerator Center by passing 200 MeV electrons first through a 126.6 mg/cm/sup 2/ Ta radiator and then through a 365 mg/cm/sup 2/ Be/sub 3/N/sub 2/ sintered wafer target. The pions, produced in the /sup 14/N(..gamma.., ..pi../sup +/)/sup 14/C/sub g.delta/ endpoint region from the combined bremmstrahlung and virtual photon fluxes, were detected at each angle using MEPS configured with a circular 20.1 msr entrace collimator. Particle position and angle at the focal plane of MEPS were measured by two orthogonal multiwire vertical drift chambers.
