A-dependence of the photoproduction of inclusive. pi. /sup + -/ mesons

We present and discuss experimental data on the A-dependence of photopions over a wide range of energies and angles of the secondary ..pi../sup + -/ mesons. It is shown that if the invariant cross section f = (E/P/sup 2/) (d/sup 2/sigma/dpd..cap omega..) is represented in the form fapprox. =BA/sup n/, the energy dependence of the exponent n reveals the same features which are observed in similar hadron processes. Expansion of the angular interval to 20--160/sup 0/ in the lab made possible a more detailed study of the nature of these features. Attempts are made to explain the observed features of the dependence n(T/sub ..pi../) by taking into account additional sources (in addition to the photoproduction in nuclear nucleons) of production of inclusive ..pi.. mesons.
