Formation of 2-vinylpyridine polymer films in the gas-glow discharge

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5740089
The polymerization of 2-vinylpyridine in an ac electric discharged plasma process produced highly crosslinked, pinhole-free polymer films. Because of the good dielectric properties, glow discharge polymerized films were formed to be used as thin-film insulators and dielectrics. The significance of glow discharge polymerization as a process for forming thin films is discussed.
