Parametric effects of capacitance transducers on void fraction measurements: dynamic test results

Conference · · Trans. Am. Nucl. Soc.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5739235
The main purpose of this work is to extend the use of capacitance transducers to void fraction measurement and flow regime characterization in a two-phase flow system. More specifically, the purpose of this work is to study the effects of (a) configuration, size, and materials of electrodes, (b) flow pattern, and (c) electrode position with respect to the dielectric boundary of the void fraction measurement taken with capacitance transducers. The project was divided into two parts: stationary experiments and dynamic experiments. Since the results of the stationary test have been reported earlier, the focus of the present work is centered on the dynamic test.
