Over the next 20 yr, the U.S. is predicted to see a profound change in the sources of supply for natural gas. Over 90% of the gas supply is from conventional reservoirs in the Lower 48 states. By the year 2000, the Lower 48 region's conventional reservoirs will produce only one-half of the gas supply. This work examines the implications of this change for the gas pipeline industry.
